If you have unwanted or poorly done permanent makeup (PMU), we can help. We are trained, skilled and certified to perform pigment lightening. We use Li-FT® by Li pigments which is a safe, high content salt and fruit seed extract solution and is deemed extremely effective in pigment lightening, to the point where it is no longer visible. The solution is safe to use in all areas. Li-FT is gentle on the skin and does not risk scarring like some other methods.

If you have old, uneven PMU, this removal technique can lighten or remove asymmetrical brows, uneven pigment and pigment migration. This is a great help to those dissatisfied with their permanent makeup or microblading in general.

The area would first need to be reviewed to determine how many sessions would be required to achieve the desired outcome. The number of sessions required will depend on whether a full removal is wanted or if the desire is for the area to be lightened. It will also depend on the saturation level of the old PMU and the remaining colour and vibrancy of the pigment in the skin. Li-FT Emergency removal can also be done up to 72 hours of the initial appointment/procedure.

aftercare instructions

It is critical to follow all aftercare instructions to prevent complications, scarring and to achieve optimum results. Please read the following instructions carefully:

KEEP THE AREA CLEAN and open to the air. Do not cover (i.e. with a plaster) and leave open as air/oxygen provides good and faster healing. CLEANSE THE AREA 4x a day with Saline. To do this, dampen a paper towel or cotton pad with Saline and blot the area 4x daily. Was hands before cleansing the area.
DO NOT SOAK the treated area in water. Shower as normal but keep the area out of the shower spray. If they do get it wet, quickly and gently them pat dry.
NO BATHING, SWIMMING, SAUNAS, HOT TUBS, TANNING, OR EXERCISE. NO EXCEPTIONS.
DO NOT disrupt the scabbing process (no picking, scratching, etc). All scabbing needs to fall off naturally. If scabs are forced or picked off, it will disrupt the process and possibly cause scarring. It is critical to keep the scabs on as long as possible to achieve optimum results.
TREAT AREA WITH TLC. DO NOT DO ANYTHING THAT COULD CAUSE ISSUES OR PROBLEMS TO THE TREATED AREA.
ONCE ALL SCABBING HAS NATURALLY FALLEN OFF, apply one drop of the provided Vitamin E Oil. Do this 3 to 4 times throughout the day for a minimum of 4 weeks, or until next lightening session. DO NOT start applying the Vitamin E Oil UNTIL all scabs have naturally and completely fallen off. It is our goal to keep the area as dry as possible until all scabs have naturally fallen off.
LIPS – please drink all liquids with a straw until all scabbing has naturally fallen off. Brush teeth carefully (no whitening or peroxide toothpastes). Cut food into small bites. Try to keep mouth expressions to a minimum.

Please note:

❖ It is important to the process and integrity of the skin that 8 full weeks of healing take place before another lightening session can be done. No exceptions.

❖ Lightening unwanted pigment can be a long process and patience is required. Please be patient and give the process a fair chance to work. Expect visible and wanted results in 2 to 5 sessions. How many sessions needed will depend on how saturated the pigment is, how deep it was implanted, the location, the skin type and how much needs to be lightened for the desired result. In many cases only a percentage of the pigment needs to be lightened and then we can continue the correction process by colour correcting or colour shifting. In those cases where we have pigment misplaced or in an unwanted area, colour correcting will not be an option and lightning as much of the pigment as possible will be the ultimate goal.
